SUMMER INTERN – Design Engineering                                              

Role:      Henderson Mfg.’s summer intern program provides students with one or more worthwhile projects that are beneficial both to Henderson and to the student.   Projects will have relativity to the student’s field of study.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

The Engineering summer intern will be assigned one or more projects, depending upon time available, priorities, and company need.   The main project assignment will be the active involvement with product modification, field testing, and ongoing development of Henderson's newly released product to the market, the "Black Belt" live bottom dump body.  In addition, project work will include the creation and ongoing maintenance of detailed piece part and assembly drawings.  Project assistance will be available and progress monitored by a qualified individual aligned with the student.   Said individual will serve as a mentor to the student.   Student will be a co-project owner, and will seek input, provide feedback periodically, and support the project as needed.    Henderson will provide the student with the tools and resources necessary to perform the assigned activity. This will include access to telephone, computer, internet, and other resources in a workable space assigned to the student.  The student will be expected to provide work experience feedback to the company at the end of the internship, in the form of a presentation, report, or other means.

 Working Conditions:

Normal office environment or may be exposed to noise if working in a production area.

 Knowledge & Skills:

§         Mechanical aptitude and problem analysis and resolution ability

§         Experience with and demonstrated proficiency with company’s CAD design tools

§         Technological skills required with knowledge of operation’s manufacturing software, as well as Microsoft products, including Excel and Word in Windows environment

§         Organizational, detail, and follow-up skills

§         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong team player

 Education and Work Experience:

§         High-school diploma

§         Student attending a college working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar

§         Experience with and proven aptitude for using solids based CAD design tools

SUMMER INTERN - Sales & Marketing

Henderson Mfg.’s summer intern program provides students with one or more worthwhile projects that are beneficial both to Henderson and to the student.   Projects will have relativity to the student’s field of study.

 

The Sales & Marketing summer intern will be assigned one or more projects, depending upon time available, priorities, and company need.  Possible projects include the following: 

  • Assist with development of a comprehensive strategy to increase sales to Departments of Transportation throughout the northern two-thirds of the United States, as well as Canada. 

  • Assist with development of a Parts Marketing Program for Henderson, utilizing internet capabilities.

  • Assist with development of a technical program for Sales Training Manuals (CD’s, etc.)

 Project assistance will be available and progress monitored by a qualified individual aligned with the student.   Said individual will serve as a mentor to the student.   Student will be the project owner, and will seek input, provide feedback periodically, and support the project as needed.    Henderson will provide the student with the tools and resources necessary to perform the assigned activity.

 Education and Work Experience:

§         Must be either a junior or a senior in an accredited university or college, preferably Iowa-based,
          working towards a degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or similar field of study

§         Minimum GPA of 2.50

§         Previous experience in an office environment is helpful

Maintenance Technician
This position is responsible for all activities relating to general and preventative maintenance on production machinery, equipment, buildings and grounds.  Qualifications include minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing setting with experience in electrical, wiring and hydraulics.  Must have experience with CNC mills, lathes, press brakes, and plasma machines.  Must work split shift and be open to flexibility, with on call duties.    Please complete employment application by applying in person, send resume, letter of application, and salary history to Henderson Mfg. Purchasing Agent (Steel)
Henderson Mfg. Inc. has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Agent.  This position is responsible for all activities relating to procurement of raw materials, including sheet, plate, and structural steel through negotiation with vendors for best possible price and service guarantee.  Must have steel purchasing background, with knowledge of market prices and trends.  Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related field required, with 5-10 years steel related purchasing experience.  Please send resume, letter of application, and salary history to Henderson Mfg.
